Summary of Job:

The Total Rewards Manager NA plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing Total Rewards strategies and programs for U.S. and Canada employees. This role serves as a subject matter expert for the Kyowa Kirin North America HR Department on all Total Rewards programs and projects. Develops, designs, and seeks out Total Rewards programs that are cost effective, competitive, and equitable, that will help attract, motivate, and retain talent.

Essential Functions:

Total Rewards Employee Engagement and Strategy

  • Keep abreast of trends, developments, best practices, and regulatory changes that may impact Total Rewards and gather and analyze employee feedback and input on various Total Rewards programs.
  • Develop, cost out, and create Total Rewards programs, policies, procedures, and improve processes to ensure best in class experience for our employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Head of Total Rewards NA on designing and implementing a Total Rewards education and communication strategy to help educate employees on the value of these programs.
  • Develop and manage content for employees and external candidates (i.e. emails, newsletter, portals, FAQs, manager talking points, guides, digital displays, presentations, social media, etc.).
  • Serve as the lead for the Wellness Committee and ensure Committee members remain engaged.
  • Support the development, administration, and communication of wellness programs. Plan and host on-site wellness activities such as fairs, flu-shots, biometric screenings, massages etc.
  • Manage benefits inbox and respond to questions and resolve issues.

Benefits Administration and Planning

  • Manage the implementation, roll out, and delivery of new benefits and programs.
  • Manage the U.S. and Canada benefits including the annual benefits enrollment process and communications. Partner with Head of Total Rewards NA on renewal strategy.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance-related regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, HIPAA, Section 125, Workers Comp, etc.). Execute benefits compliance, including all required reporting and submissions including but not limited to the annual distribution of 1095s, nondiscrimination tests, 5500 filings, 401(k) audit, testing, and distribution of required disclosures, etc.
  • Manage leave programs, including short-term disability, long-term disability, Family Medical Leave, Parental Leave, other leaves of absences (state, local, and company), and ADA program. Ensure HR Ops, and other stakeholders are kept informed throughout an employee's leave. Work with the third-party administrator to ensure the outsourced portion of the program is running effectively.
  • Manage monthly benefit plan invoicing and provide required information to Finance. Verify the calculation of the premium statements for all benefit plans and submit and track timely payment.

Compensation Administration and Planning

  • Manage participation in market surveys. Support job offers and updating and creating pay ranges and grading roles.
  • Partner with Finance to update quarterly accruals for bonuses, and LTI.
  • Support key compensation life cycle events, including annual salary increase planning, bonuses, LTI administration, and semi-annual promotion processes.
  • Other ad hoc projects/duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor's degree with or minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in benefits.

Experience

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or compensation experience is a plus.

Technical Skills

Advanced/Expert skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PP). Extensive knowledge of employee benefit and compensation plans, programs, and applicable laws.

Non-Technical Skills

Strong ability to analyze, interpret and communicate data effectively to drive business decisions. Strong critical thinking, communication, follow-up, and presentations skills. Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Detail oriented and excellent follow through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.

Physical Demands:Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work.

Working Conditions: Requires up to 5% domestic and international travel
