Responsible for the general maintenance of all production equipment including preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair work, installation of new or replacement equipment and to maintain tool and supply inventories. Should have a thorough knowledge of the following process-related equipment:

  • Screw, belt and pneumatic conveyors and associated components
  • Reciprocating, progressive cavity, metering and centrifugal pumps
  • Powered Industrial vehicles and manlifts
  • Industrial heating boilers and HVAC units
  • Valves and piping components
  • Large horsepower fans
  • Operation of large bridge cranes and rigging equipment
  • Large thermal machines (dryers, afterburners, power plant boilers, scrubbers, etc.)
  • Large centrifuges
  • Service air compressors

Perform the following "hands-on" related functions or any other related functions but not limited to:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as necessary using O&M manuals as reference.
  • Overhaul progressive cavity, reciprocating, diaphragm, metering, and centrifugal pumps
  • Tighten joints, replace gaskets, replace seals, fill oil reservoirs and grease cups, and change bearings
  • Operate all machine shop tools (e.g. lathes, drill press, milling machine, welders, etc.)
  • Perform rigging tasks
  • Replace sections of process, drain and vent piping and related components
  • Repair, maintain and/or replace any process or balance-of-plant furnace burners or related equipment
  • De-rust, prime and repaint any structural steel or process equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures including use of predictive tools such as ultrasonic measurement, balancing, and laser alignment
  • Maintain all facility owned tools in good working condition
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at a high level, cleaning up work area at the end of each job or shift
  • Perform all work in a safe, professional, and workmanlike manner

  • Strong general mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to set and adjust priorities as needed to meet plant goals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve process equipment related problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively up and down the chain of command
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Functional skills using Microsoft 365 products
  • Experience using a CMMS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical processes
  • Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance activities
  • 3+ years relevant experience in a manufacturing or process plant environment
  • Possess or obtain within six months of hire MA Hoisting Licenses 1C, 2A, 3A (Forklift, Loader, OH Cranes)
  • Possess or obtain within six months of hire OSHA 30 Certification.
