PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Delmar HR Lead will be the second in accountability within the local HR organization. The HR Lead will support the delivery of HR strategies and tactics to improve business results, such as talent acquisition, performance management, employee and labor relations, succession planning, and more. The HR Lead is accountable for developing and executing strategies that ensure the safety, effective training, growth and development, and performance management of employees. The HR Lead is expected to ensure the efficient execution of individual training plans, performance reviews, and other people processes, and strategies intended to drive performance and business results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Live the safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate Owens Corning's stand on Safety to ensure employees believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning.
  • Participate in and on safety activities and teams as required. Participate in the development of team safety requirements - including behavior-based safety observations, safety meetings, pre-shift safety inspections, departmental inspections, hearing examinations, etc.
  • Support the reporting and investigation of safety incidents as required, driving to root cause and permanent resolution.
  • Support the development of and participate in plant wellness programs.

Develop and communicate strategies, goals and objectives

  • Participate in the development of the Plant's strategies, goals and objectives, with the ability to understand and communicate the same to employees.
  • Deliver plant strategies, goals and objectives to all new hires through a New Employee Orientation Training that is routinely revised to stay relevant based on current needs.
  • Participate in the development of systems and processes that help to ensure employees understand how their roles impact the Plant's ability to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the development of systems and processes that help to ensure employees understand any applicable customer requirements.
  • Participate in the development of systems and processes that help to ensure employees understand how their roles impact their ability to earn variable incentive pay.
  • Facilitate problem solving with employees to ensure root causes are identified and eliminated.
  • Actively participate on the plant T&D pillar team, serving as a system owner and working actively to reduce plant loss due to training gaps.

Execute HR practices, working closely with the HR Leader, support staff members, local union leadership and primary employees.

  • Provide general HR assistance to all employees as needed with matters such as compensation, benefits, etc.
  • Support recruiting for all primary roles and staff roles as applicable.
  • Build and maintain excellent, open relationships with all employees.
  • Develop a reputation and operate as a trusted advisor and business partner to the Plant NLT members, Union Officers and HR Team.
  • Coach leaders up, down and across the organization with confidence and candor consistent withLeadership Accountabilities and OC Guiding Principles.
  • Participate in labor relations processes, including the grievance process, to ensure aligned and consistent application of the local agreement and to ensure labor agreements support a lean work system.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and requirements pertaining to the management of HR to minimize risk and exposure to the company.
  • Actively support work to help achieve the Company's Inclusion & Diversity vision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 - 7years' work experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environment required (work in a union manufacturing environment preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Human resources generalist experience including experience with employee relations, talent selection and development, and compensation and benefits
  • Experience making high-impact decisions in fast-paced environment
  • Experience utilizing computer programs and Microsoft Office products

The base salary range for this position is $87,000 -$105,000, with the potential for up to an additional 25% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
