This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office two days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Manage the daily operations and projects for a group responsible for the enterprise data warehouse, data integrations, and Cognos reporting platform. Oversee all operational aspects for supporting these environments. Determine corresponding project plans, priorities, budget items, and resource requirements. Oversee the data warehouse operations to include the data processing and decision support components. Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, quality, and integrity of the data and consistency and coordination across the platform.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Superior knowledge in data warehousing using star schemas with Type 2 SCDs (Slowly Changing Dimensions).
  • Understand ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and the ability to extract data from a wide variety of source DBMS (database management systems), like Database 2 Operating System (DB2 Z/OS), DB2 for i, Oracle,Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, etc.
  • Lead a team in writing data extracts and pipelines that will be shared with a variety of end users.
  • Read and write Cobol programs on a IBM Z and Linux platform.
  • Read and write Linux scripts using KSH (Korn Shell).
  • Demonstrate a general knowledge and understanding of analytics and reporting. IBM Cognos reporting experience is a plus.
  • Maintain an infrastructure that provides flexibility and responsiveness, while supporting the productivity needs of the business. Use secure, stable, and comprehensive industry standard technology, methods, and tools.
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations in order to develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available system architectures that meet business objectives.
  • Provide up-to-date solutions that enable the business units to gain productivity and continue to become more competitive, including both on premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Raise the quality and value of solutions and support services by utilizing improved project management, continued intense focus on expense management return on capital investments, and reporting of statistics, metrics, and benchmark comparisons for major Information Technology functions and services.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of broad-based experience in data analysis, conceptualizations, modeling, reporting, and data governance working with structured and unstructured data.
  • Five years of experience leading a team with technically focused direct reports.
  • Five years of experience managing a cost center including budgeting and purchase execution responsibility.
  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and perform root cause analysis to resolve situations in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of Another Neat Tool (ANT) tasks and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) targets is preferred.
  • Stored Procedure knowledge in DB2 Z/OS, Linux, Unix, and Windows (LUW) DB2 and SQL Server is preferred.
  • Understanding Procedural Language (PL)/SQL procedures in Oracle is also a plus.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support resolution of issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
