This is a hybrid position and will require you to be on site several times per week for value added reasons.

Job Description

  • Contributes to the evaluation, acquisition, implementation, administration, and management of Otsuka online global information resources such as databases, eJournals, and eBooks.
  • Manages and maintains accurate access to global information resources including establishing access, administering the subscription renewal lifecycle, processing orders and payments, and monitoring and handling resource changes. Monitors and analyzes usage of licensed resources to ensure Return on investment.
  • Works with clients to understand their ongoing information resource needs. This includes answering user questions, troubleshooting access issues, and developing solutions and enhancements by collaborating with colleagues and vendors.
  • Develops and applies a thorough knowledge of best practices, efficient workflows, and tools for effective operations, policies, and standard procedures in areas of responsibility, including online global license procurement, resource licensing for user needs, implementation, and management of electronic resources.
  • Supports customized information strategies, solutions, and services for internal clients globally to aid business decisions in clinical development, business development, safety, regulatory, commercialization, and more.
  • Assists in conducting global user training programs by identifying needs, leveraging resources, and implementing processes for measuring effectiveness.
  • Provides user awareness communication of Otsuka online information resources and services.
  • Supports department projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree in Information or Library Science from an accredited program.
  • 3-5 years of library or information center experience.
  • Experience in global licensing and procurement of online information resources, and vendor management.
  • Experience with electronic resource management, access management, user trouble shooting, integrated library or information systems, and vendor administration systems.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and other emerging technologies
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have initiative and proactively strive for superior customer services and outcomes.
  • Ability to learn quickly, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve shared success in organization-wide goals and projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products and collaboration tools.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of corporate library or information center experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical industry.
  • B.S./M.S. degree in Life Science
  • Advanced capabilities with specialized pharmaceutical and business information resources such as Dialog, Cortellis, Citeline Suite, EvaluatePharma, Factiva, Adis, RightFind Suite and EBSCO.
