This position located in Sanford, ME offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for up to 50% remote work along with the option of a 4 x 10 hour/day workweek, providing both flexibility and a rewarding professional environment.
You will be a key member of a close-knit team, collaborating with our radiation oncologists (7), medical physicists (4.5), and dosimetrists (3.5).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists to design individualized radiation therapy treatment plans for patients.
- Utilize advanced treatment planning software and equipment, including Eclipse TPS, Velocity, RadCalc, Oncentra (HDR brachytherapy TPS), to calculate radiation dose distributions, beam arrangements, and treatment parameters.
- Perform all aspects of SBRT/SRT/SRS, IMRT/VMAT, and 3DCRT treatment planning.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on treatment plans, using ClearCheck (RADformation), to ensure the accuracy and safety of treatment delivery.
- Assist in the implementation of new treatment techniques and technologies.
- Maintain meticulous records of treatment plans and patient data using ARIA OIS.
- Provide support to radiation therapists during simulation and treatment delivery process.
- Foster a positive and friendly work culture by actively participating in team meetings and engaging in professional development activities.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: N/A
- License/Certifications: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or board eligible.
- Experience: One to three years' clinical experience.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office Word and Excel, back up treatment plans on the planning systems.
- Requires analytical ability necessary to resolve complex patient care problems relating to correct dosage, and angles and treatment plans in Radiation Therapy.
- Requires interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with physicians, therapists, and others.
- Must successfully complete the CMD Board Exam within one year if hired on as board eligible.
