Job Description

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for helping to develop and implement Procurement best practices across Ryan's enterprise, with a focus on new construction projects. This includes working with stakeholders to identify and quantify opportunities, managing RFPs, negotiating with suppliers, and rolling out programs and related processes to the business.

The successful candidate will partner with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers to develop programs that add value through standardization, optimization, risk mitigation, and delivering savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute against opportunities to build Procurement programs in support of Ryan's goals around value creation, trade partner relationships, and project execution
  • Perform traditional category management activities including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract management, and performance measurement
  • Independently develop, socialize, and implement sourcing strategies
  • Manage negotiations, contract development, execution, and implementation of Procurement programs
  • Assist teams with developing full-lifecycle relationships with key trade partners and make connections with new trade partners and execution teams.
  • Support and enhance internal business processes in preconstruction, and trade partner management.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve procurement-related issues impacting construction projects.
  • Investigate, develop, and implement new and existing technology products, solutions, and systems
  • Serve as subject matter expert on market conditions, supply chain best practices, and assigned categories, including communicating issues, innovations, and updates to stakeholders
  • Provide business updates regarding material lead times and supply chain issues
  • Partner with Preconstruction, A&E, and Construction teams to establish standards, best practices, and material specifications
  • Embed sustainable procurement and support for historically disadvantaged business enterprises into the Procurement process
  • Manage and maintain repositories of Procurement information including Ryan's intranet, Teams site, and other systems.

Requirements:

  • 6+ Years working in Estimating and/or Procurement, ideally with a focus on Construction materials and services
  • Strong foundation of strategic sourcing principles and an understanding of new construction processes
  • Customer/Stakeholder focus and a collaborative approach to relationship development and problem solving
  • Track record of taking initiative and performing work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment
  • Desire to be a change agent, influencing behaviors to deliver positive business outcomes
