Job Description:

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

Engineering Intern; to assist engineers with the design, development and manufacturing of advanced composite structures. Tasks include design, statistical analysis, production support, product testing, manufacturing instructions, data recording and entry. Assist configuration management as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and monitor process flow and layout.
  • Development and changes of engineering and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Research and enter data into Manufacturing Modeling or other systems.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to help solve basic engineering problems. These may include product design, manufacturing, process, materials, lean processes, etc.
  • Build and assemble engineering development products, marketing components or operations tools and fixtures.
  • Assist in conducting or conduct product tests (mechanical tests, flow tests, material tests etc) Write test plans and document test results.
  • Write product, equipment or process specifications under engineering direction.
  • Compile and analyze data using Excel or equivalent
  • Provide preliminary disposition for Discrepancy Reports and drafts for Engineering Change Notices.
  • Route engineering documentation and parts to various organizations

Day
Monday - Friday, 7a-3p

Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Level
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision
  • As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons.

Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.

Physical requirements

  • Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
  • Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
  • Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc
