Job Description

Successful candidates for this role have strong troubleshooting instincts honed through hands-on experience supporting large scale cloud-native applications. Your emphasis is solving problems quickly through root cause analysis and resolution evaluation. You are often the go-to source for problem escalation thanks to a deep technical knowledge, strategic needs assessment, the ability to anticipate the ramifications of interventions, and outstanding communications skills.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manage system availability, health and service levels of cloud-native applications running in AWS
  • Proactively monitor metrics and performance of applications and cloud infrastructure
  • Ensure that response plans, tools, and procedures are updated and validated
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or incidents that affect the availability, performance or security of our systems
  • Implement and automate best practices for system configuration, backup, recovery, patching, scaling and security
  • Participate in on-call rotation for resolution of issues in a 24x7 cloud environment
  • Develop and maintain runbooks and data-driven automated processes and tools

Skills you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technology field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud operations and infrastructure management, DevOps, SRE
  • 3+ years in incident response and major incident management
  • Expert in tools and procedures to detect and respond to cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Expert in infrastructure and application monitoring and logging tools
  • Expert in the management of secrets and access controls
  • Experienced in containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experienced with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools. (e.g, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience in version control, CI and automation tools such as GitLab, Jenkins
  • Experience configuring, and troubleshooting Database technologies
