Job Purpose
The AEC intern program is designed to provide firsthand working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety activities at AEC. Environmental, Health and Safety Intern (EHS Intern) will be directly involved with all projects, activities, and events and responsible for helping meet expected deliverables to drive towards reducing environmental, health, and safety risk. The candidate will develop valuable problem solving skills while assisting with the support of existing programs as well as the development of new procedures and processes
Job Responsibilities

A task list of assignments will be provided to the EHS intern and they will receive support from the AEC safety staff to accomplish them. The intern may be given the responsibility to find solutions to specific safety activities in support of current program improvements. Some of the activities and responsibilities may include:
- Completion of Authorized Employee periodic Lockout / tagout observations
- Aid in Environmental documentation organization
- Participate in the completion of JHA's, Ergonomic Evaluations and PPE Assessments for job tasks at Plant 1 and Building 2
- Participate in offering training on topics including New Hire Orientation and Zero Contact
- Conducting regular site EHS Audits to identify non-compliances and help drive our Haz ID and SIF Observation programs
- Aid in the preparation and distribution of weekly, non-sensitive EHS Metrics

- Degree Targeted: Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics

Working Conditions
Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition levels.
Physical requirements
- Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
- Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
- Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc.
