Job description: Machine Operators are critical members of our team. They set up, operate, and tend machines that extrude and coat flat films from synthetic materials.
In this position you will set up and operate production equipment including blown film extruders, silicone coaters, and slitter/rewinders. You will work both independently and with a team to meet and exceed customers' specifications and timeframes.
Responsibilities:
Machine Operator has the following responsibilities and duties:
Set up, operate, or tend machines such as blown film extruder, silicone coater, rewind/slitter, and auxiliary equipment to extrude and coat and convert flat films.
Observe machine operations, control boards, and gauges to detect malfunctions such as roll quality, silicone continuity and dimensional tolerances. Adjust machine controls, tensions, and operational parameters as necessary.
Load materials into extruding and coating machines, by proper weighing, and adjust feed mechanisms to set feed rates.
Start metering pumps and observe operation of machines and equipment to ensure continuous flow of silicone coatings.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures to determine correct film production parameters and quality specifications. Record details of machine malfunctions.
Keep machinery and work area clean. Wipe finish rollers with cloths and wash finish trays with solvent when necessary.
Ensure quality of film and raw materials meets and exceeds customer and company standards with training in a lab as a QA tester.
Requirements: Machine Operator should have the following skills:
Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Operations - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Controls - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to precise positions.
Ability to Detect Problem - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Problem Solving - Identifying problems and reviewing related information to troubleshoot or to alert supervisor.
Coordination - The ability of fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Other Requirements:
Be familiar with rulers, scales, gauges, and other measurement tools.
Able to stand, bend, squat, lift 30 pounds.
Pass a background check and drug screen.
Dependable attendance, able to work holidays.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
